Melinda Keen

Melinda Keen, CNC, BS, bestselling author, educator and low oxalate recipe developer. Her passions are nutritional science, promoting oxalate awareness, writing, cooking, hiking and traveling.

Melinda’s first cookbook, “Low Oxalate Fresh and Fast Cookbook” grew out of her love of cooking and the desire to help others prepare a variety of fresh and healthy low-oxalate meals.

Her second cookbook, “Real Food Real Results” includes gluten-free, low-oxalate, and nutrient-rich recipes. Both of these cookbooks include recipes measuring less than 50 mg of oxalates each. Most healthcare providers advise limiting oxalate intake to less than 40-50 mg per day.

For individuals that may want to lower their oxalate further each recipe can easily be modified by using a low oxalate foods list which can be found in her third book, “Living Low Oxalate”. This book is a resource book that reveals how oxalate rich foods are linked to bladder pain, kidney stones, joint pain and inflammation, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. This well researched, easy to read book explains what oxalates are, which foods contain this natural toxin and how they can adversely affect your health.

Her fourth book, “Tame the Flame Cookbook” offers more than 150 delicious, nutritious recipes that reduce chronic inflammation and caters to individuals with food sensitivities.

“Living Low Oxalate Cookbook” is Melinda’s newest release which features low oxalate recipes for the low oxalate and the ultra -low oxalate dieter. This cookbook includes oxalate content counts for each recipe and reliable oxalate food content lists.
